The Carbon Cycle

The carbon cycle describes the exchanges of carbon throughout the atmosphere. Daily human activities in modern life such as the use of fossil fuels creates more carbon in the atmosphere. These extra emissions contribute to the greenhouse effect, which takes up less than 1% of the Earth's atmosphere. Global warming is caused because , considering how much carbon is released by human activity and the increase in deforestation, trees aren't able to keep up with photosynthesis for all of the carbon released in the atmosphere, which is causing global warming. Many colder climates, like Antarctica, that rely on polar ice caps and colder weathers to sustain its way of life, are being endangered and destroyed by global warming. We can all decrease our carbon footprint by saving our money to switch to solar energy in our houses and selling or scrapping our gas guzzling cars to be replaced by electric or hybrid cars. We can try to minimize the amount of fires we have in our fireplaces and definitely cut back on the cigarettes!
